Summary: Despite assurances even a toddler could pass the test, Rodney somehow failed. As though this wasn’t embarrassing enough, the trial cursed him, as the locals ridiculously put it, dooming him to shrink whenever his frustrations got the best of him, growing back only as he calmed.

“It will wear off eventually,” they told him, but it wasn’t all that reassuring when they added, “probably.”

“No one’s actually failed before,” another villager explained.

The SGA GenMayathon is well under way and we're excited to see some entries already posted! Some quick housekeeping:

We are following the pairing definition of gen on AO3 (and not the rating definition). AO3 defines gen as works not including romantic or sexual relationships, or works where such relationships are not a focus of the story.

Remember to post to the open sub collection on AO3 for 2025. The parent collection is closed but the sub collection is open.

Don't forget to post your links here and on Tumblr for all to enjoy.

Stories can be of any rating.

Yay — it's the 1st of May!

From today until May 31the collection will be open for everything gen—fics, podfics, and every artwork you want to create.

You're invited to post your work to the open collection on AO3
You don't have to sign up for it.

But there's more!
You want to give us prompts? Claim a prompt? Fill a prompt? Do all of it — or none of it?

Here are the rules:

1. This is an open fest! No sign ups necessary to participate. Anyone can sign up, even if you don't plan on filling any prompts! Anyone can fill prompts, even if you did not sign up with a prompt!

2. Leave up to 10 prompts to help others! Or leave none! These can be as general or as specific as you like. (Please leave your prompts anonymous!) Giving prompts is open until May 15!

3. Claim any prompts you are interested in filling! All forms of fanworks accepted-- as long as the fit the AO3 definition of gen!!

4. Fill the "Gen" prompt if you have an idea of your own that doesn't fit a prompt -- or add to the collection in the Associations field on a new work!

5. Post as many fills as you want or are able!

Of course you cam post your work to other fests and challenges too—spreading the SGA love as much as possible is welcome!

Hi all! Join us for the first SGA GenMayathon!

So, what does that mean?

The goal is simple: to generate as many Gen works for Stargate Atlantis as possible this May—fics, podfics, artwork of all kinds—everything that follows the AO3 definition of Gen is welcome!

Gen: No romantic or sexual relationships, or such relationships are not the main focus of the work.
